Shark Evoline Series 3 Hakka Helmet Review: The Cross-Country Samurai Kung-Fu Badass

Shark-Fu

Shark is one of the great masters of the land. They have perfected their art in making safe comfortable helmets with visual flair and style. They have many secrets which everyone knows about sort of. And they are one of the best helmet companies out there so definitely keep them in mind when buying helmets.

Way of the Warrior

The warrior helmet we will discuss today comes from the land of the “Shark Discovery Division”. This is the ancient line of cross-country helmets for when you journey with your fellow road warriors in their samurai helmets across the land enjoying the the sites, talking shop, chilling and y’know having fun.

The Face of the Demon

The Hakka helmet is one of the Evoline Series 3 helmets. This one has one sexy motherclucker of a badass color scheme and all the features of the Evoline Series 3 which I will get into. It is a white and black matte finish with a bit of red near the chin. This aggressive looking helmet is your samurai mask.

Shark Evoline Series 3 Hakka Motorcycle HelmetTiger & Crane

So to start with has two stances: open-face and close-face. Kung-fu has many styles like mantis, crane, and tiger which focus on speed and strength. This helmet follows the school of helmet-fu where the styles focus on Comfort and Protection(and apparently confuse Kung-fu with Samurais; two different countries but maybe that is just me… note to self: read more history).

Open-face is for the rush of the wind, the natural environment around you, the bugs… Close-face is for greater protection and avoiding nature safely inside your bubble of technology. The chin-guard and the helmet roll all the way behind the head for the Relaxation-Stance. Or you can pull them forward in another smooth motion and lock them in place as you rush towards the battle and your mount roars with the sound of 10,000 Leopards. It will keep your head safer in the protection-stance though with a bit less airflow and such since your face isn’t exposed to the four winds.

The Eyes of the Eagle

The visor protects you and has the usual gamut of features including UV along with the anti-fog feature; you know to keep you all Eagle-eyed and stuff. There are also a set of shades that you can roll down with a slider on top of your helmet. Both of these are anti-scratch cause helmet maker assume you are clumsy. Together their purpose is to give you the sight you need to see your foes or the road and trees ahead of you (whichever is more important). If you remove the little padding pieces on the sides of your head, you can even wear your own glasses if you are the scholar on a warrior’s journey to the West.

The Cheeks of the Monkey

There is plenty of padding and lining removable as usual. The lining is designed for comfort so it attached to the helmet in places where it won’t cause pressure on your head. This is because an undistracted warrior is a focused warrior, much like a not-down thing is an up-thing.

Shark Stance

Shark Evoline Series 3 Hakka Helmet image for review postIt would not be Shark-fu if there was no Shark-stance. So first there is a built-in spot for the bluetoothsystem, if you buy one from them that is. This allows you to communicate with your homeland (wife? kids? friends? real estate agent?) or listen to the songs of your people. They call this “Sharktooth”.

The ridge and groove design is what makes the Shark helmets so safe and comfortable. If you remove all the lining, you will see ridges and grooves in the helmet. The air flows through the grooves to take away the heat and sweat from your scalp for keeping you cool and the ridges are a crumple-zone to protect your head in a crash (or when you get hit with the samurai’s disco stick on your noggin; man it really sucks to be you).

The sound reduction in this helmet is just okay but it isn’t like a Race-R Pro helmet which is super-quiet and about twice the price.

Post-battle Cleanliness

After every battle a warrior must clean the blood of their enemies off their bodies. And for that you must use a gentle cycle and cold water with a net for all the removable padding and lining. Or rinse and air dry. The clean warrior is the perfect warrior.
